2007 JY15 NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP

1.0 RULES: The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing, the rules of the JY15 Class (except any as altered by the Sailing Instructions), this Notice of Race, and the Sailing Instructions. The regatta is designated a Category A.
2.0 ENTRIES: This regatta is open to boats of the JY15 class that are members of the JYCA. Eligible boats may be entered by completing the registration form online or mailing it with appropriate fees to Island Bay Yacht Club, 76 Yacht Club Road, Springfield, IL 62712.
3.0 FEES: The registration fee (if sent prior to July 20th, 2007) is $200. The registration fee (if sent after July 20th, 2007) is $225. Registration fees include boat registration, all breakfasts, lunches, and dinners for skipper and crew, refreshments after racing, and regatta awards. Additional shirts, lunches and dinners will be available for purchase.

5.0 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS:
Sailing Instructions will be made available to competitors at the Registration Desk on Friday from 0800 to 1000.
6.0 COURSES: Courses will be provided in the Sailing Instructions.
7.0 SCORING: The regatta will be scored as provided in Appendix A of the Racing Rules of Sailing using the Low Point System. If six (6) or more races are completed, each boat’s worst finish will be discarded. One (1) race will constitute a regatta.
8.0 AWARDS: Trophies will be awarded to the top five (5) scoring skippers and crews and the top Junior/Junior (less than 18 in calendar year 2007) will be awarded the Junior North American trophy. Other trophies will be awarded to the highest placed skipper and crew in the following categories: Husband/Wife, Master (55 and older), Female, Mid-Fleet, and Daily. Presentation will take place on the IBYC patio as quickly as possible following the conclusion of the regatta.
9.0 CHARTER BOATS: Charter boats will be available in limited quantities. Hunter Marine will provide up to six (6) brand new charter boats at a cost of $475 for the weekend. Sails and rudder/tiller are available at an additional cost of $100 and $50, respectively. Please contact Ted Norris (tnorris@huntermarine.com) at Hunter Marine for further information.
