1. RULES: The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing, the prescriptions of the U.S. Sailing Association, the rules of the JY15 class (except as any of these are altered by the Sailing Instructions), this Notice of Race, the Sailing Instructions, and any amendments governing the regatta thereto. This regatta will be a Category "A" event with regards to advertising.
2. ADVERTISING: Advertising will be restricted to Category A.
3. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY: The regatta is open to boats of the JY 15 class that are members of the JYCA. Eligible boats may enter by registering online, or completing the registration form and mailing payment to the JYCA; 80 Bradley Corners Rd., Madison, CT 06443. Membership renewals should also be mailed to this address. Make checks payable to: JYCA. Information and registration online at: http://www.jyca.org. Advance registration is strongly urged.
4. CLASSIFICATION: The ISAF Sailor Classification Code will apply.
5. FEES: Registration (before January 31) $150.00
Registration (after January 31) $175.00
US Sailing members receive a $5.00 discount
Registration includes; racing, 2 shirts, lunch and dinner for 2 on Friday and
Saturday, and lunch on Sunday.
Optional fees: Additional meal packages are available for $45
6. SCHEDULE:
Thursday, February 7 Registration, check in and welcoming at UKSC 1800-2000
Friday, February 8 Registration and check in at UKSC 0900-1100
Skippers meeting at UKSC 1100
Warning gun 1st race (additional races to follow) 1300
Dinner at UKSC 1800
Saturday, February 9 Warning gun 1st race (additional races to follow) 1100
Dinner at UKSC 1800
Sunday, February 10 Warning gun 1st race (additional races to follow) 1000
Awards ceremony, no later than 1500
No races will be started after 1200 on Sunday
7. MEASUREMENTS: All boats are required to comply with current JY Class Rules and will be subject to spot checks by the JYCA Board at any time.
8. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS: SI's will be available after 1800 Thursday, March 1 at the registration table.
8. COURSES: Courses will be Modified Olympic, and Modified Windward-Leeward. Courses and lengths will be outlined in the Sailing Instructions.
9. SCORING: The regatta will be scored as provided in Appendix A of the Racing Rules using the Low Point System. If 6 or more races are completed, the worst finish will be discarded.
10. PRIZES: Trophies will be awarded to the top skippers and crews at the completion
of the Championship. Additionally, special trophies will be awarded.
11. CHARTER BOATS: A very limited number of boats will be available for charter to JYCA members for $250. Rudders and sails are also available at additional cost. If interested, please contact Ted Norris at Hunter 386-462-3077 to make arrangements.
